The Dorset Village Parish of West Moors

West Moors is a delightful village located in Dorset, approximately 10 miles from Bournemouth and Poole. It is predominately a residential area set upon what was once a Moorland, hence it's name.

West Moors village, previously known as La More in the 14th century, Mours in the 15th century and Le Moure in the 16th century has a wealth of history associated with it, said to be traced back to the Doomsday Book. In the Doomsday survey it lay in the 'Hundred of Caledone' which merged into Bradbury.

At present day, West Moors is a Village containing a comprehensive range of shops, post office and public transport. West Moors boasts a good selection of High Street and independent stores, supermarket, hairdressers, butchers and chemists, ensuring that a stay in the village is the ideal place to enjoy a comfortable, restful stay and convenience in a lovely location.
